In an origin company/country ITAS considers there may be several terminals/mills/collection points/storage facilities. In its record keeping, these terminals are kept separate although transfers between them is facilitated.

The goods will be delivered to the terminal either as part of an existing contract, in which case the delivered quantity will be called off the contract, or ad-hoc in, which case a spot contract is created. At this point the goods may be invoiced and paid for or this may happen at a later date. The weight of the truck empty and full is taken and must agree with the unloaded weights. The goods taken in become inventory in the terminal and the record of the truck delivery is secured.

Each warehouse record has many attributes such as lot reference, commodity code, grade, quantity, value, QA code. It may be moved to a different warehouse location (shed id) or split with each part having their own attributes.

Within the terminal the goods may undergo many processes such as washing, milling, sorting, roasting, bagging, mixing and packing. Each process may add value to the goods and may incur some costs. The process may involve weight gain or weight loss and the process may have one outturn product and several inturns (such as mixing) or may have one inturn and several outturns (such as sorting) or be many to many. All these process styles are handled by Process Orders (POs). Because the Outturn(s) will have different attributes to the Inturn(s) ITAS creates new stock records for the outturns and retains the inturns as history. This means reversing the process is available and a full trace is possible from a sale contract or from finished product right back to the original purchase contract(s) no matter how many processes it has gone through.

Sale contracts are entered separately. At the appropriate time they are allocated to the stock items, marked as delivered out of the terminal and sales invoiced.

Warehouse reporting is managed by the warehoused date and release date attributes of the stock items. This allows historical as well as spot stock reports as well as a stock movements report showing a carry forward position then movements in/out of the warehouse broken down into sections for intakes, deliveries out, consumption, write offs & samples sent.
